Jim and I love this farm. There’s been a farm here since the 1780s. First it was subsistence farming. It changed to wool production and all the land was cleared. Dairy took over for most of the 20 th century and the 21 st presents it’s own challenges as we all search for ways to farm profitably. Like so many farmers here in Vermont, at least one person works off farm. Most of us struggle to cover our production costs. We are all adding considering how to add value to our products so we aren’t selling wholesale and buying retail.

We spend our time gardening, beekeeping, growing plants for re sale, trying to control invasive plants and keeping our forestland and grassland habitats healthy.

We continue to restore and protect the barns on the property. This year we are adding food and drink tourism and bird watching to our offerings.
